30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 25 and 26

Something you miss?

Today's post is brought to you from the wonderful Melbourne hotel we are staying in. Yep the girls road trip was a success and we made it in one piece. I will talk about our road trip in later posts. So far we are super happy and today we are going SHOPPING!! Yay!

Okay back to the question at hand.

Being in Melbourne makes me miss my Mum a lot more than normal because if she were here today she would have come with us on our road trip and she would have looked after us. Even if she didn't come with us I would have had tons of phone calls during the trip where she would check on us and laugh at all the silly mistakes us girls (who should have been born blonde) had made.

I always miss my Mum. Every day I think about her. Sometimes I still grab the phone to call her and then remember that she is gone. Sometimes I go shopping and hear someone's keys and turn around thinking it's her (she used to have the biggest batch of keys and when we couldn't find her she would jingle away). I miss gossiping about celebrities with her and texting her all the silly stories about my kids.

It never gets easier but I do think my Mum is watching over us in some strange way.

Think back to 5 years ago. How have you changed since then?

Okay this post is hard. It really got me thinking, I spent most of the road trip thinking about it. That was a good 9 hours.

5 years ago I was just 24 and mikey and I had only been living with my husband (then boyfriend) for about a year. I wasn't working but I was looking at studying. I was such a young person at heart and I still a, but back then I was naive and I wasn't ready for the big wide world. I had never had a real full time job and I was doing an okay job at parenting but I wouldn't say I was great at it. I was quite a novice with most things and always needed help as I wasn't very independent. I was extremely shy and I didn't like talking to people if I didn't have to and I was never confident or sure of myself.

Fast forward to now and I am a whole new person with much more confidence in myself. I am also very proud of myself to have come so far in the last few years. I think living with Ross has made me a better person definitely. He has given me so much confidence just by believing in me and pushing me to be the best I can be. I also think my new job has helped me overcome my shyness because I have so many customers coming in for coffees and I talk to them about their day and their lives. I have become more independent from having my own money and helping my husband to look after our little family which has made me feel a lot better about myself and given me that extra boost of confidence.

Overall I think I have grown up a lot in the last five years but I have always stayed true to myself and my younger ways as well.

That's all for today. Time to grab some sleep so I can get ready for another big day shopping and sightseeing tomorrow.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 24

What's in your purse?

I have two purses in my handbag my little leopard print coin purse is super cute and I love carrying it around. I purchased it from Collette and it was a great price considering how classy it looks. In this one I just carry all my spare change for parking in the city and sometimes I put my credit card and ID in there if I just need a lil handbag for going out for dinner etc and my big purse won't fit.

My main purse is this really nice maroon one which was a Christmas present last year from my daughter. I love this one because it fits so many cards in it as well as photos of me and my mum and also my besties from work.

This purse also has an awesome amount of space for money notes as well as a big zippered section for coins. I have so many VIP cards from different companies that I really need the card space. This purse is super cool because it has the usual card holders plus an opening on the back of the purse that holds another 14 cards. You can also slide cards and receipts into the multiple hidden pockets found all around the purse.

By the way my sister arrived safely yesterday from the UK and we are super excited to have her here. I am spending the rest of the day preparing for our Melbourne road trip. I will still be blogging while i'm away and when I have finished my 30 days blogging I will be sharing our road trip adventure with you all.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 21

A photo of something that makes you happy

Oh my! Today has been the most relaxing day I have had in weeks and I am truly loving every minute. I have the day off work, my whole family is home, the house is tidy and the sun is shining. I basically just had to do a few dishes and the rest of the day has been lazy. I'm just about to throw some things into the slow cooker for dinner tonight and then I think I will get some packing sorted for my Melbourne road trip this week with my sisters. Super excited and I will definitely do a blog post for our trip.

But before I get in the kitchen I will share with you a photo that makes me happy! This photo I actually saw yesterday on Pinterest and I have never smiled so much in my life! I have found my dream pet I think.........

Now I just need to convince the husband to get a bigger house and the little puppy to go with it.
Wish me luck.

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 20

The meaning behind your blog name.

The Life of a Fairytale Wannabe

Ever since I can remember I have been fairytale obsessed. The prince charming, the castles, the dreams, the happiness, the flowers, the tiaras and the pink!

I have just always been a dreamer and I have never grown up properly, it's just not in me. I watch Disney movies when I am sad and I love love love any fairytale romance movie or story. Where the guy gets the girl or the girl goes travelling or the girl follows her dream.

I'm a dreamer and I believe in fairytales. Which is why my blog title was so easy to come up with. It was basically the first thing to pop into my head.

My blog is supposed to be about my life, sharing my journey with you as I live my dream. A dream I am still working on, but a dream that feels like a fairytale slowly coming true. Why do I want to share it with you????
Because one day I will prove that fairytale's do come true and that you can live a life as a grown up without actually growing up. You can enjoy life, be silly and have fun AND.........be an adult all at once. You don't have to watch the news reports or the MA rated movie or some docmentary (unless of course that is what you love).

Put that Disney movie on and enjoy it! dance in the streets, be silly at work, laugh with others and just spread the love! that's what I am about and that is what I want to share with you.....the fun times and the fairytales . I know my blog has been very here, there and everywhere but I am working on some new blog plans that will hopefully come into effect when I have finished my 30 day blog challenge.

Stay tuned!

30 Day Blog Challenge - Day 19

Another picture of yourself......

For today's blog post I decided to grab the last photo taken of me on my phone. This photo was taken last week at a sushi bar in Adelaide called 'Sushi Q' on Goodwood Road. We went as a family for my daughter's birthday and it was a great night out. Food was delicious and fantastic prices. I highly recommend for a simple night out with family or friends.

So there we have it. The last picture taken of me on my phone.

I can't believe I am already over half way through my 30 day blog challenge. Once I have finished I think I will keep up my blogging much more regularly. I have been going really well with my new healthy routines so I would love to share those experiences with you all as well. I am currently working on a better blog plan so that I can have some sort of proper routine and not just bits and pieces here and there.
