Cold Days

This morning I woke up to the sound of rain outside my window which would be the greatest sound in the world if I was laying in bed all rugged up and not leaving the house.

I am so in love with rain it's not funny.

I love the way it sounds and the way it makes you want to rug up. I also love the feeling of snuggling on the couch and watching tv with the heater on and a hot cup of steaming coffee in my hand.

What I don't love is getting out of bed on a freezing cold, rainy day and getting ready for work. It just doesn't go together at all. But you are probably seeing where I am going with this. It's exactly what I had to do.

I did manage to squeeze in some brownie baking before work.....I'm that cool :p
I wanted to try out a gluten free brownie recipe I had found. This here is the very last one from this morning. The rest got gobbled up so fast I didn't even get to photograph them all.

Once work was over it was time to come home and just chill out!
I have been working super hard this week so this weekend is all MINE to enjoy and I am so so so happy and lucky to have it off. I'm going to enjoy every second.

I have lots of things on my to do list so I might get a few of those finished this weekend. I have my munchkins 12th birthday coming up so I have to get prepared for that. We are planning a Taco Fiesta Party! I will definitely keep you all updated on that progress. I also have my Besties little girl to birthday shop for which I'm excited about.

Then of course we have Mother's Day to get ready for and I am also in the middle of some knitting and sewing so lots to get done but all things I am excited about and consider 'down time' isn't that crazy haha.

The best part of my day today was booking a table for me and the Husband's date night! We have decided to have a date day every week but I want to do something super special at least once a month. For the month of May I have chosen to book a table at Jamie's Italian in the city and let's just say I am SUPER excited. We haven't been yet and I have been dying to go since it launched here. It has been way too long a wait and today I just went for it and booked that table.....eeeeeek! Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Jamie Oliver so I'm a super happy lady right now :)

And that's about all for today folks.
I will be blogging a lot more now. I'm hoping for everyday but we will see how I go.

Ciao xx

Sickness Blues, Love Tanya and Life Goals

For the last week, I have been sick. Who knows what I have, i'm not a person that willingly goes to the doctor when I can avoid it. I probably should go because my head feels like it is stuffed full of mush and I can't hear out of one ear but i'll just see how the next few days pan out and if i'm not all better.....then I will let my husband drag me down there by my hair. I promise.

The sickness has made me a complete misery guts this week. I just want to rug up and do nothing but suck on butter menthols, whinge and watch countless episodes of grey's anatomy and cold feet. But alas, I have been at work all week. Which is probably why i'm such a sookie lala. It has been a hard week BUT I have done it! I crawled out of bed every day and just pushed my way through the pain. I'm extremely tired but I am also extremely proud of myself.

Plus I get the whole weekend off at the end of next week so I can relax and watch lots of episodes of blissful television series then and I will have enough money to buy lots of junk food to binge on at the same time. Winning! :)

Something super cool did happen this week in spite of all the sickness. I had a package waiting for me one day when I got home from work and boy oh boy was I a happy sick lady that day.......

I got Tanya Burr's new book 'Love Tanya" eeeeek

I waited weeks for this book to arrive and it was so worth the wait. I love watching Tanya Burr's vlogs on Youtube and reading her blogs but to have her book is something else. It is very nicely written and is such an inspiring book for teenagers.
I know, I know......it's been a while since I was a teen but even I find her inspirational and her book is jam packed full of awesome tips for makeup, skincare, healthy living, hairstyles, living in general AND recipes!!! Yep anyone who shares recipes is a hero to me :D
I haven't completely finished the book yet as I haven't had a lot of time this week BUT I did enjoy a cup of tea while reading the chapter on make up and I can already see a real difference in my own make up skills.......in the way that my make up now looks good haha. If you haven't seen Tanya's vlogs on Youtube I highly recommend it (here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/user/pixi2woo) and make sure you check out her book which I believe you can buy in stores in Australia or via online book stores.

So back to me again........While I haven't been working, sick or reading, I have been working on my new business venture baking goodies. It is a slow process but I am certainly not giving up EVER! I love cooking homemade goodies, it really makes me so happy and I think I have finally found my real passion. I know I have spoken about this lots of times on my blog so I won't blah on but I just wanted you all to know that I am still progressing and loving every second.

Some of my goodies are now being sold in a local cafe which is AWESOME news for me and I can't wait to keep branching out. One day soon I will be able to do it full time and I will have completed my life goal :) Independence!

That's all from me today.
Have a wonderful week and you will be hearing from me very soon
Ciao xx

I'm back........again

Ok it's been about a month since I last posted a blog. Life has once again taken over and everything I have wanted to do and all my 'me' time has been put on hold.

I started working longer hours to help me save for a holiday to the UK a nd also to help fund my new cooking business venture. I am still enjoying my job and the beautiful people I work with but I'm just finding it hard to get some of that 'me' time.
I have had lots of orders start coming in for my baking business which has been so good for me. I'm looking forward to building it up more. There are so many things like blogging, story writing, knitting, sightseeing, holidays, reading etc that I just can't seem to find time for now.

The next few weeks I'm going to try really hard to spend more of my time on me, some relaxing things, more family time, exploring the great wide world. I may even try and start crossing some things off of my bucket list too.

Watch this space as Liane is back and ready to take on the world.......but first, some sleep is needed.

Ciao
